Illegal Operation: Your Friendly Local Spartan

Gotta love the shades.

Carda here.

It’s come to my attention that I seem to be quite the minority around here.

It’s okay.  I’m used to it.

Join me behind the break to see why I’m such a Halo evangelist.

Life on Lunatic 07C: The Search for Spork

I hate snipers. And mountains. And lawyers.
Except you, Phoenix.

MegaMatt here.

After some discussion with Carda behind the proverbial curtain, I thought I might polish up the arguments I hastily typed out and call it a column to make up for missing like two weeks clarify my position on Reach. Join me behind the jump as I attempt to take down Bungie’s Reality Distortion Field from the inside.

Disclaimer: I don’t hate the Halo series. I love the story, the music, the art, the world… pretty much everything but the gameplay, as a matter of fact. So, as always, take everything I say with a boulder of salt.

Life on Lunatic 07B: The FlashMan Follow-Up

Aww, now you don't look like a happy camper.

FlashMan here.

Ordinarily, you two and your video game-related debates would not be enough to pull me out of watching K-On!! and generally just hiding from the internet genuine productivity, but you’ve gone and done it by dragging Team Fortress 2 into your squabbling. I would use the comment system, but I wanted to make sure my reply was seen.

Life on Lunatic 07: Fourth Time’s the Charm

I totally use the n00b combo, too

MegaMatt here.

So, I find myself tempted to pre-order Halo Reach. It’s a good thing I don’t have a credit card, because being forced to wait for a chance to actually get out to my local gamery shoppe has made me reflect that I really have no idea why on earth I’d do such a thing.

The Progress Meter, inaugural edition

Boom. Headshot.

Carda here.

If you’ve been tracking the site for any length of time, you’ll know that we talk about games.  A lot.  So I figured, why not keep everyone up to date on what we’re playing and how we’re doing?  That’s the point of The Progress Meter, to track the gaming accomplishments of the ELB collective.

Join me behind the break as I kick this off.

Coming Soon…

"I LIKE this hat."

Carda here.

For some time now NetRaptor and I have been working on a story I’ve been developing for several years.  It’s a story of James Carda, a modern-day college-age guy who finds that the world he’s known is a lot smaller than he thought…

Before he knows it, he’s thrust into a conflict that spans time, space, and dimensions.  And did I mention that his ex-girlfriend is back in town (or more accurately, never really left)?

Yeah, it sounds cliche on the surface, but there’s a lot more going on here than I’m letting on.  And soon, ELB readers will get to experience the story firsthand.

The SpaceTime Legacy will be a monthly feature here on ELB; each chapter will debut on the 21st of the month, starting in just a couple of weeks.  It’s going to be quite a ride…

Life on Lunatic: Comic Con Recap

And I’m almost over the Inevitable Convention Sickness, too!

MegaMatt here.

So, after four days of running around, several delayed flights, and something that may or may not be the zombie virus slowly consuming my family, what have we learned from this year’s Comic-Con?

Illegal Operation: Worthy of Note

Just because it's good doesn't mean you have to like it.

Carda here.

Yeah, I know, there haven’t been any new THRP transcripts in a couple of weeks.  I’ll be honest: the only thing worse than ending a campaign prematurely is forcing the continuation of one when everyone needs to take a break from it.  So that’s what we’re doing.  As soon as we all decide we’re ready to move the campaign forward, I’ll be posting new chapters, you can bank on that.

But that’s not the main reason I’m posting today, as you can probably tell by the post title.

With the release of Starcraft 2 this week and Halo Reach looming on the horizon, I figured now would be a good time to talk games.  Specifically, games I like.  Even though I don’t play them.

Confused yet?  Then let’s step behind the break to see what’s going on inside this weird brain of mine.

Life on Lunatic Out Live

MegaMatt? In MY ELB? It’s more likely than you think.

MegaMatt here.

So, those of you who were paying attention might have noticed that I missed a Life on Lunatic a week or so ago. That is completely unrelated to the Engineer Update or any TF2 binges upon which I may or may not have gone.

No, as a matter of fact, I’ve been preparing for business that is rather serious.

As you may know, Capcom will be having a panel at this year’s Comic-Con to discuss Mega Man Universe, and it seems the fanbase is already going berzerk with arguments over the game regardless of the fact that we don’t know a darn thing about it.

And we wonder why they don’t give us a Legends 3.

At any rate, I am proud to announce that I will be ELB’s official reporter on the floor, and with any luck, I’ll be able to live-tweet from the conference and maybe steal some video. All you have to do to get updates on my run is follow @MegaMattSP on Twitter, and at the end of each day, I’ll try to post up a summary on @EyeLazorBeams.

This is it, gentlemen.
