ELB EX: Episode 11 – …Or It Could Just Be A Remake feat. Carda

I know you have probably been wondering where this subject has been.  I mean, a game announcement as big as Operate Shooting Star is surely ELB-worthy, right?  Well, you’re right, it is.  We’re just late to the party.

Honestly, there were a few problems getting this one finished, and I want to personally apologize that some of the discussion in this episode is certainly dated by this point due to the information on OSS that has come out since we recorded this episode.  For example, we now know for a fact that OSS is a remake of EXE 1 with certain RnR characters and elements being mixed in somehow.  But as I said before, we ran into a few snags that literally prevented us from releasing this one until now.

All in all, though, there’s still some genuinely good discussion in there.  So, even though it’s extremely tardy, we hope you enjoy this episode all the same.

We’ve made you wait long enough for this one.  At long last, it’s finished.  It was seriously a lot of hard work to get this one out the door.

Just as a forewarning, since we kinda ran out of steam before compiling this was finished, we had to use a couple of funky-looking purplish Battle Chips in order to gain enough energy to finish this column.  As a result, since I don’t remember most of the actual editing process, I’m not really sure what you guys are going to be getting in this one.

It might be genuinely good discussion.  It might be random tidbits that don’t actually make any sense.  It might even be something more sinister awesome.  I seriously have no idea, since I’m a little scared lazy to actually listen to it myself.  But I’m 100% sure that whatever it is, it’s the best thing we’ve ever made.

Maybe.

We’ve shed tears of blood, sweat and darkness happy sunshine to make this our greatest audio masterpiece ever.  Listen at your own risk Enjoy the fruits of our labor of love!

FMBCL – Brief Delay

They're just so comfy and easy to wear.

I’m currently out of town at my ranch, and my internet access is highly limited at the moment.

I’ll be back home Wednesday or Thursday, and I’ll make up missing this week’s updates of FMBCL to you guys with a special treat. Regular updates resume next week, sorry about the hiatus. I’ve been busy with league and real life responsibilities, and my Internet life does come second to the real world regardless of what you and I would prefer. This is also why I haven’t been talkative on Messenger lately for those of you who may be curious. Don’t take it personally.

Thanks for your patience, guys; enjoy ELB EX #10 as well as our newest special. See you in a few days.

ELB EX Special: The Things That EXE 4 Did Right

Randomized story paths are FUN!

Randomized story paths are FUN!

BreakMan here.

Earlier in the year, FlashMan and I popped into an MSN chat window with a bunch of our listeners and asked them what kind of topics they’d like to see covered in the future for ELB EX to test the waters and get some genuine feedback.  One of the topics that was suggested to us by a number of people (StenMan and MegaMatt, to name a couple) was to list off things that EXE 4 actually succeeded at as a game.

Now, by this point, you should probably get the idea that FlashMan and I are not fans of EXE 4 by any stretch of the imagination.  But this was one of the best topic suggestions we’ve ever heard, so we actually decided to play devil’s advocate and accept this request.  It was a little difficult to wrap our heads around at first, but by the time we were finished recording, we felt as if we had succeeded in seeing a lot of EXE 4‘s aspects in a positive light.

Even though we recorded this column back at the very beginning of April, we never actually officially released it to the public.  Here it is, four months later to the day of the original recording, and we felt that it was fitting to go ahead and give this column the spotlight and fanfare that it deserves.  So, without further ado, here we go…
